Well I dont usualy draw "Dogz" in a non anthro form, but after reading the piece I posted here I was somewhat inspired. I found it in someone's LJ, defenetly not found by me, nor written by me (author at the bottom) But thought Id share.

The image, its col erase light blue, "inked" over with mechanical 0.5 HB lead and colored with photoshop... granted I didnt finish, maybe I will when I dont have a migrane.

For enquiring mings, yes Dogz does own his keg, yes it has the swiss emblem on it, as well as a red collar. It weighs a bit more than a lb when empty and its dark walnut wood. Someday he might earn his tags :D

The pillow... yea he also owns irl a pillow like that ;P

Enjoy

Gentlemen of the Jury,

The best friend a man has in the world may turn against him and may become his enemy. His son or daughter that he has reared with loving care may prove ungrateful. Those who are nearest and dearest to us, those whom we trust with our happiness and our good name, may become traitors to their faith. The money that a man has, he may lose. It flies away from him, perhaps when he needs it most. A man's reputation may be sacrificed in a moment of ill-considered action. The people who are prone to fall on their knees to do us honor when success is with us may be the first to throw the stone of malice when failure settles its cloud upon our heads.

The absolutely unselfish friend that man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous, is his dog. A man's dog stands by him in prosperity and in poverty, in health and in sickness. He will sleep on the cold ground where the wintry winds blow and the snow drives fiercely, if only he may be near his master's side. He will kiss the hand that has no food to offer; he will lick the wounds and sores that come in encounter with the roughness of the world. He guards the sleep of his pauper master as if he were a prince. When all other friends desert, he remains. When riches take wings and reputation falls to pieces, he is as constant in love as the sun in its journey through the heavens.

If fortune drives the master forth an outcast in the world, friendless and homeless, the faithful dog asks no higher privilege that that of accompanying him, to guard him against danger, to fight against his enemies.

And when the last scene of all comes, and death takes his master in its embrace, and his body is laid away in the cold ground, no matter if all other friends pursue their way; there by the grave side will the noble dog be found, his head between his paws, his eyes sad, but open in alert watchfulness, faithful and true, even in death.
George Graham Vest (1830-1904)

CUTE pic, and a very inspirational bit of writing!

Have you ever heard of a Japanese dog named Hachiko? If you haven't, I'll tell you now:

A man who was a professor in a Japanese college brought home an akita puppy to keep him from feeling so lonely. The puppy grew into a fine dog, and also grew an intense bond with the professor. Every morning, the professor and his dog would walk to the train station, where the professor would take the train to the city to teach his class. The dog would then return home and reappear at the station at 4PM every day without fail to greet his master on return.

One afternoon, the professor did not return home at the normal time of 4PM. Hours past, and the locals who frequent the station and had grown accustomed to the daily ritual of the professor and his dog grew suspicious. It so happened that the professor had suffered a heart attack during his lesson that day -- and would never return home.

Hachiko, however, returned to his post the next day at 4PM, waiting for his master who had not returned on his train. Days passed, then weeks, and months, and still Hachiko continued his daily ritual. The locals revered the loyal dog as a hero, and would feed him and pat his head for luck. Months turned into years, and the dog began to suffer severe arthritis and pains from old age, but still the dog waited for his master. One fall morning, the locals found the dog, dead where he lay, still waiting for his master to return.

In honor of Hachiko's extreme loyalty, the townsfolk erected a statue in his honor.

I think that story is amazing....sweet Hachiko...I hope he's finally found his master.

I have to agree with you, that story was very touching, not to mention true. It made me think of my old dog, Falina. She was always there for me...

Thanks so much for sharing that with us:hug:!

That written piece reminds me of President Roosvelt's dog (Tala I think it was) When he died the little dog kept a vigile at his grave until it too passed. It was buried right next to the master it loved so dearly.

Great drawing too puppy! I like seeing a non-anthro Dogz once in a while :D
